About Me

My name is Anne-Marie Bradley and I am an experienced person-centred counsellor working in Islington, North London.

Importantly I am well trained in what I do and have spent many years learning and developing in this field. I have a Diploma in Person-Centred Therapeutic Counselling and I am an accredited member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and beyond that I never stop developing myself as a person and deepening my knowledge of the work I do. My continuing personal and professional development ensure I am always expanding and understanding what it truly means to work ethically and to be in connection with someone.

The thing I most love about counselling is I get to meet so many different people, to experience the fullness of being human. This lies at the heart of what I do. I have worked with people from diverse cultures, different sexualities, different abilities. Each of us are unique and every session brings something new.

I also like to do some voluntary work in my local area. My most recent projects include working with a bereavement service and an addiction recovery service.

My Work

Whether it feels too big to talk about, or even too small to bother anyone with, if it's making you feel anxious or disrupting your life it may be reassuring to talk to someone who knows how to help.

My approach is person-centred, which means I respect the ability within all of us to grow and develop to be who we fully are, given the right growth conditions for us to do this.

This requires a unique kind of relationship and an authentic and transparent way of communicating as the basis for self exploration.

  • Be understood

My aim will be to be to stay in tune with how you are feeling and to connect with your experience. In this way you can move around freely and explore how you are feeling. It's simple, yet it can have a powerful effect.

  • Be fully you

Importantly you will not be judged and so you'll discover a freedom to express those emotions & thoughts we're not 'supposed' to express, finding all facets of yourself being accepted.

  • Be well

Once you are able to move freely in your experience emotions surface, new understanding emerges and with this movement comes change, self acceptance and a deeper self knowledge that gives you more resilience to live how you truly want, beyond the expectations of others.

Clients

"I found Anne-Marie to be warm and welcoming, we soon built up a good rapport where I felt very comfortable. The changes I made over several months really improved my wellbeing and made a very positive impact on my life. I’m grateful to know that I can go back and see Anne-Marie if and when I need to, and see this as another tool in my toolkit for looking after myself."

CG, London

People come and see me for many different reasons. Whatever it is, I offer a space where you will have the freedom explore this to achieve a deeper sense of well-being in yourself.

I have experience with a broad range of issues: anxiety; depression; low self esteem; relationship issues; bullying and traumatic experiences; discrimination; addiction in all it's many forms; bereavement or loss; work stress; feeling stuck or lacking purpose; self image; how to express anger safely; health issues...

These issues can seriously impede how we live our lives and make relationships with those close to us difficult. If you need extra support to help you move forward I'd be happy to help.

"I came to see Anne-Marie as I was feeling completely overwhelmed with stress connected to work and within my personal life. I had gotten to a point where I couldn't cope anymore.

From the beginning I loved Anne-Marie's Person Centred therapy practice. It felt very honest, caring and natural. She provided me with a space to get all the thoughts that were overwhelming me out from inside my head into the open, which really helped relieve the pressure. I came to the lovely realisation to be more content in myself and to enjoy all the things that make me myself."
